Plans were recently released for a new development at the former site of the Iron Springs Spa. This historic, 13 acre Iron Mountain hot springs locale will bring another family-friendly hot springs option to the area. The new resort will have a maximum capacity of 300 people and will be operated by Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. Already a premiere hot springs destination, this project is sure to add even greater appeal to a Roaring Fork Valley visit. According to the new owners:
“The Iron Mountain Hot Springs will have five pools of varying shapes and sizes tucked into the hillside and will complement the experience at the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool. It will offer one more way to relax and have fun here, and, at the same time, bring a part of Glenwood Springs’ history back to life.”
The site is located on the banks of the Colorado River just west of Two Rivers Park. It is within walking distance from the BEST WESTERN Antlers. The new geothermal springs are slated to open in May of 2015, construction is already underway. Curious? This local article offers more information about the Iron Mountain hot springs project.
