Vicco’s Charcoalburger Drive-In is an old fashioned drive-in burger joint. It has been serving burgers and fries in Glenwood since 1953! Definitely an authentic alternative to the fast-food chains that dominate the American landscape. The hot dogs are foot-longs (natural casings) smothered with delicious toppings and with a side of fresh-cut fries. Polanka – This restaurant is one of the best-reviewed eateries in Glenwood. It is a small, family run restaurant with a small menu. The home-made food is cooked right in front of you and the proprietors are delightful. Everything is so delicious, but try the combo plate to get you started: Pierogis, Kielbasa, sauerkraut and cabbage rolls. Polanka feels like it belongs in an old Chicago neighborhood.
